General Employer’s Action Plan based on
the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support Raising Next-Generation Children

To balance employees’ work and family lives and to create a worker-friendly environment in which all employees can fully demonstrate their abilities, we have formulated the following action plan:

    Period

Three years from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2027

    Description

Goal 1 Revise the childcare benefit system and improve the work environment to facilitate childcare leave and return-to-work processes.
    Measure 1

    By March 2025
Interview employees with current or past childcare responsibilities (including those who chose not to take childcare leave despite being qualified), along with their superiors and colleagues, to find out about the existing system’s issues and inadequacies.

    By March 2026
    Draft a revision

    After April 2026
Implement the revised system and identify problems

    Goal 2

Take the following initiatives to change the work environment and give male employees greater opportunities to actively participate in childcare:

    1. Actively inform superiors and colleagues in the workplace on the importance and value of childcare leave for male employees, so they can develop a deep understanding of the issue.
    2. Interview personnel concerned to gather information on the issue, and identify discouraging factors to help improve the work environment.
    3. Keep qualified male employees informed on childcare leave so they understand the system better and feel encouraged to take leave.
    Measure 2

    By March 2025
Interview employees with current or past childcare responsibilities (including those who chose not to take childcare leave despite being qualified), along with their superiors and colleagues, to identify factors that discourage male employees from participating in childcare.

    By March 2026
Gather information from external sources and compile a report about the ways to increase childcare leave and associated benefits.

    By March 2027
Deliberate the content of programs to raise awareness of superiors and colleagues, improving the work environment, and providing information to qualified male employees.
